We are the Wellington Branch of the New Zealand Society of Genealogists (NZSG). You do not have to be a member of NZSG to be a member of our branch. Similarly you can be a member of NZSG and not a member of our branch. We are one of four branches in the wider Wellington Region.
We meet monthly in Johnsonville to provide a forum for exchanging information; meeting other people interested in family and local history and genealogy; and hearing from a range of well-informed people on a variety of subjects. Visitors and members are very welcome to attend. Branch members are kept informed of activities, events, and programmes in a newsletter, which is distributed by email. We welcome enquiries from prospective members.
Upcoming Branch Meetings
Monthly Meetings are held on 3rd Wednesdays, February to November in Collective Community Hub, 33 Johnsonville Road, Johnsonville at 7pm for 7:30pm. Visitors are very welcome.
Since 1968, the Wellington Branch of the New Zealand Society of Genealogists has been dedicated to promoting the study of family history and genealogy. We provide educational opportunities and research resources for the development of knowledge, skills and practice in family history, genealogy and whakapapa primarily in the Wellington City / Northern suburbs area.
Our Committee
The Wellington Branch is led by a dedicated passionate committee, who are elected every year at our Annual General Meeting in May. New members are welcome.
